R. Julio Aleman

Attorney

While primarily focused on criminal defense, R. Julio Aleman has defended against serious traffic offenses, peace and protective orders, and administrative hearings that often stem from alleged violations of the law. Mr. Aleman's expertise stems from several years of direct service, handling serious criminal and traffic cases on behalf of defendants shortly after joining the Maryland State Bar Association.

Regardless of the unique and varied nature of the case, Mr. Aleman has obtained acquittals across myriad types of disputes. In 2011, Mr. Aleman represented an ivy league-educated suburban Montgomery County mother charged with 134 counts of prescription fraud. The prosecutor dismissed more than one hundred counts. Mr. Aleman obtained a not guilty verdict on the remaining counts. That same year, Mr. Aleman won an MVA hearing on behalf of a woman who drove her car into a house and faced the loss of her license for refusing an alcohol breathalyzer test. Her license was saved by Mr. Aleman.

From 2013 to 2015, Mr. Aleman branched out into legislation and became a lawyer and lobbyist for The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission. While lobbying for the M-NCPPC, he delved into the behind-the-scenes legislative research involved in enacting statutes. Mr. Aleman also successfully prosecuted an Internal Affairs case against a Park police officer accused of misconduct, and he successfully defended the commission in personal injury suits.

Mr. Aleman returned to criminal defense in October of 2015. In just one year, Mr. Aleman obtained a full acquittal in a DUI case involving a police cruiser, saved a bar's license with a short suspension instead of full revocation, and obtained a not-guilty verdict in a sex abuse of a minor and second degree rape case. In 2017, in Anne Arundel County, Mr. Aleman convinced the State to dismiss the charges against a client charged with attempted first degree murder.

Although Mr. Aleman cannot guarantee any particular result in a client's case, you can know for certain that he will use his best efforts to obtain the best result possible using the facts of your case.

Mr. Aleman is a native of El Salvador who grew up in Rockville, Maryland since he was ten years old. He earned an undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2003, and he obtained his law degree from Penn State's Dickinson Law in May of 2008.
